Jose Luis Chilavert Allegedly Comes to blow with Argentine Agent in Airport

Former Paraguay goalkeeper Jose Luis Chilavert had to be alienated from an Argentine mediator in an Asuncion airport, after an alleged dispute over owed money from previous player transfers.

Pablo Seijas claim that the goalkeeping legend demanded money from transfer the agent was not concerned in.

“Chilavert demanded money from me for his supposed part in the transfers of Argentine players Rolando Zarate to Mexico & Sebastian Romero to Greece, but I told him I had not anything to do with those moves," Seijas told radio station Primero De Marzo.

Meanwhile Chilavert claim that Seijas had offended him in Argentina's Ezeiza airport shortly before a planned flight to Asuncion, calling him a "starving Paraguayan".

The 2 men both got on the plane and continuous their stand-off in the Paraguay capital's Silvio Pettirossi airport, coming to blows when Chilavert challenged the mediator to repeat his abuse on home soil.

"It bothers me that in a foreign land they say whatever, but in our country I am not going to permit," Chilavert stated to 1.020 AM on Monday afternoon.

"He landed a punch on me, but he absolutely got the worst of it."

Chilavert represented Paraguay 74 times and scored 8 goals in a playing career that enclosed over 20 years, and also played in the 1998 and 2002 World Cups. He also managed to score over 60 times from free-kicks and penalties, a record for goalkeepers until Sao Paulo's Rogerio Ceni surpassed him.
