Storm cause delay at Sky Harbor Airport

 Sky Harbor Airport

A 2nd straight day of stormy climate caused some lunchtime delay today at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

Winds and storms rolled through the Phoenix area late Tuesday morning. That caused for some departure delays and fewer arrivals until the climate cleared.

Assistant airport director Deb Ostreicher said at 1:30 p.m. that 40 to 50 planes were lined up to take off after the weather had cleared. The prospects of more high winds required those planes to be spread out more which makes catching things up at the airport a little longer, Ostreicher said.
