Manchester Airport terminal reopens

Terminal 1 at Manchester Airport in England was reopened Friday after being briefly evacuated since of a suspect package, police said.

Manchester Airport terminalPolice said they responded today morning after information of the suspect package going through safety at the departures area of the terminal.

They evacuated the terminal and bomb removal officers examined the package, later confirming it posed no threat to the public.

Officers spoke to the man who owns the package and said no offense had been committed.

New flights designed from Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport

2-airlines are adding new flights from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport one to the Bahamas and one to Savannah, Ga.

Low-cost carrier Allegiant Air will start offering nonstop flights from Fort Lauderdale to Savannah in November. Twice-weekly flights, designed for Thursdays and Sundays, start Nov. 18.

The Las Vegas-based company is contribution introductory one-way fares of $29.99 if trips are booked by Oct. 5. The limited fares are good for travel through March 8.

Bimini Island Air is starting direct repair to Marsh Harbour, Treasure Cay and Bimini on Sunday. The airline will offer service on rotating days of the week, with flights operating out of the commuter terminal.

Investigators found no proof of a bomb aboard a Thai Airways flight on Tuesday after a written danger was exposed in a lavatory shortly before its arrival in Los Angeles, officials said.

After landing safely, the Airbus A340-500 taxied to a remote area of the Los Angeles International Airport where official interviewed passengers and crew members, screened luggage and searched the plane.

"No proof has been found to propose a credible threat to the aircraft," FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said.

The FBI is now investigating to decide who was responsible for creation the threat among the 171 passengers and 18 crew members on the Thai Airways International Flight 794 from Bangkok to Los Angeles, she said.

Eimiller could not verify reports that the threat was scrawled on a lavatory mirror.

Los Angeles airport official were notified of the threat around 90 minutes before the flight's scheduled arrival on Tuesday night.

It was not immediately recognized if passengers were conscious of the bomb threat during the flight.

Thai Airways said in a statement in Bangkok that airline officials were waiting for the plane to be released for its go back to Bangkok.
